30. Going dark. Don't freak! I mean the "unplugged" kind

It’s been a full twenty days since my last post. Please don’t take it the wrong way, it’s not you. It’s me. But not “cancer having me,” just me-me.

On October 9th, I started working on the feature film Call Of The Wild. It’s the film I have been building my recovery around since I booked it a week before my surgery. They wanted me for a big chunk of October, the 10th -the 26th, and while I didn’t end up working everyday, during the 14 hour days I was on set, the internet was sporadic at best. Rarely in my trailer, there was a lot of “hurry up an wait” on set, but the time was well spent making new non-virtual friends. It’s one of the magical things about working on film: this motley family you temporarily build, and the personal connections you make feel so very rare when social media takes more and more of our time.

(And you know what? I felt AMAZING then when my iPhone told me i had spent 30% less time with my screen, it made me take a serious look at taking a “screen cleanse.”)

With a block of time off, I went back and taught half of my Equinox class schedule successfully, although I definitely was feeling muscles i hadn’t felt in a while. (Damn I host a challenging workout).

Then I jumped a plane to Vegas to see my family. In Particular my niece and nephew who are growing like weeds. I took my phone and computer, but I spent much more time taking a deep dive into “Nemo” & “Dory”. Also I kicked ass at the 2-5 yr old playground.

Then I was back on set, until last Friday.

And it was ALL AMAZING. It was like a “CHEMO-MOON” - like a baby-moon but with cancer.

I am rested, and ready… come on hairless making beast! Let’s see what you got!!
